@AmyDentata It's the same reason why gaudy desktop PC lights are a mess of vendor lock-in, And why we've reinvented the bad old days of infinite cable bundles and of AOL channels (which is about the nicest way I can think to describe the deliberate interop friction between social media apps)

@Google Multiple errors on AOL and AIM email accounts and it says also says on account settings, no aol password on aol and aim account settings.

when i was 13 my friend hosted an aol employee scam page for me on his home ip address. he was 12 when the fbi raided him for it. they took his computer as punishment and were never heard from again. unsolicited internet history
