    @selfientdavid I worked for a network provider… before consumer recognition of the internet. The business end of networking, providing services to AOL, Compuserve, etc. I also worked for one of the earliest companies selling PCs - fun, hardworking times!

    We ain’t have Wi-Fi or YouTube tutorials either we had to go to a computer, sign in to AOL, print out directions and hope you understood those instructions well enough to do what you needed to do.

    @slcroucher When I was a kid (teenager, but still living with my parents), I had a Q-Link disk that came with my C64. I wanted to sign up, so I called the 1-800 number on the disk label. I got an AOL tech support rep. That's how I found about the conversion to AOL!

    @Luvvie I didn’t get rid of it so much as let it die from neglect. Never was my main email anyway, always secondary to either aol or gmail.

    Got a new PC. Anyone know how to fix the @AOL @aolmail @AOLSupportHelp capability to use my AOL mail account in Outlook? Create an App password is unavailable and support just says “try again in a few days”.
