@SenBlumenthal Guess your memory forgot about pre-Internet places where it was just as prevalent, like AOL, GEnie, CompuServ, numerous dial-up BBSes, then USENet, MySpace, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Friendster... Maybe the problem isn't "Big Tech", it's your got-dang kids and terrible parents. 🤔

Have you ever accidentaly sent a follow-up (by copying an old email and editing it) on AOL and when editing it, it accidentaly sends and you can't undo it? so now I feel awful for @HelloLyssaD because she now has the same email twice. And I feel so bad.😮 (this is an uh-oh emoji)

@0xTomoyo Late thirties and I like discord. I mean it has all the same UX issues as other iterations of tech going back to the AOL chatrooms. It's fun tho.

@realZenelan @ddayen All had access to online in 1996 was AOL chatrooms. LOL 2002-2009 was the heyday of message boards! I suspect they'll never come back simply because google changed its algorithms to bury everything interesting outside of the big tech formats.

@CeeHawk @DickVanKlondike So we can assume by this series of tweets, other than Bix being possibly incel af: - he hasn't seen a woman in any state of undress. - has never seen a movie above PG - thinks RP chats from AOL days are something completely different. Am I missing something? 1/?
