@cyr_actual @AmmoMfg 😬 The worst that happened to me is that somewhere deep in the accounting bowels of whatever company owns AOL today (Verizon?) is a debt of over $300 I ran up on Q-Link one month. I dropped it after that & never paid. As for usenet (& limewire), all that **** went into a VM.

  • DJ_RTC Alexander Fruchter (@DJ_RTC) reported

"The beat float like a house on a boat, I'll throw a broken AOL Disc at your throat." spit out my coffee on that one.

  • ZoneOnePlaya True Playa For Real Ask Puff Daddy (@ZoneOnePlaya) reported

@BabaYehgar It has since at least MySpace. That was the main place I got exposed to really dumb people on the internet. AOL chat rooms used to be bad too, but Twitter, Facebook, Youtube & Instagram are filled with dumb humans with keyboards.

  • TheChiScroller Chris Hodges (@TheChiScroller) reported

Has any company ever gaslighted millions of people as well as AOL did? They had most of us believing that you NEEDED their service to connect to the internet, or that AOL just WAS the internet. I remember being so confused by "web browsers" for the longest time because of that.
