Thanks to Biden picking Kamala Harris for VP, I get to drag my Viking name out of the closet. An AOL-era edgelord irritated that he couldn't get a rise or his way from a woman in tech support dubbed me Amanda the Nasty. It's been a thing insecure guys do for decades. #nastywoman

Will someone make a meme please about people who are still mad that U2 conspired with Apple to give them free music that they didn’t like? You know? They setup their new computer and there’s like AOL or something on it and they ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Free U2 and they lose their ****?!

  • ForemanTaxLaw Matt Foreman (@ForemanTaxLaw) reported

@taxtherapist505 When I worked at Best Buy, we had to sign people up for AOL, which was "free for six months" and then they were auto-enrolled afterward. They had to call an 800 number to cancel it and about once a week someone came in super angry because we signed them up. I stopped offering it.

@engineers_feed They want to justify the purchase of the VR Ocular product. Even with 5G there is not enough bandwidth to support their customer base. Facebook has become the old AOL and they know it.

@WhatHeSaidVO All I wanted from Santa was an Atari 2600, our cable remote was hard wired to the tv, our phone had a dial and a cord curlier than my hair and also anxiously awaiting for that damn free AOL CD-Rom to arrive so I could connect to the world wide web...

@ShibZillaBSC that website looks terrible. It's like something you would create on AOL dialup internet back in the day. You may wanna re do it again haha.

  • fateswarning86 Carlos Sanchez (@fateswarning86) reported

@HatingHatred @evan_greer i found the AOL software to be stifling, and it dulled down most users into thinking that was all there was to their PC. i started out using various dial-up providers, and then cable, no onerous software filtering the whole internet/web.

We all agree: the idea of Facebook as the main steward of the Metaverse is awful. But protesting it is not gonna prevent it. What we need is a better open alternative, what Netscape was to AOL and MSN back in the day. We need an open metaverse, we need a metaverse W3C

@malleableware @LisaForteUK Yes I’ve never been on BookFace Meta what’s it called either. Or bebo or aol or anything else ‘trendy’ except Twitter of course. High quality, non-trivial, deep tech Twitter. After all I only have so much time to waste.

@uppittynegress This is not from any gotdamn millennial. Millennials grew up unsupervised in aol chats, wtf is this nonsense?
