Like i had a walkmam and a Avril Lavine CD and i was doing that same shit but luckily.... No video evidence... No big social media. Just some dial up internet, an AOL email.... And some memories. Lmao.

  • NaFun Name cannot be blank (@NaFun) reported from Seattle, Washington

@Slate Because he's targeting people that only recently dropped the mass email fwds from their aol accounts and they're used to bad graphics.

  • film_girl Christina Warren (@film_girl) reported from Seattle, Washington

Anyway, we both used that AOL account until BellSouth started up its ISP service in the fall of 1996. The password wasn’t changed and the account was active until sometime in 1998 when the county finally did an audit and canceled it.

  • crtr0 Carter thinks #BlackLivesMatter (@crtr0) reported from Seattle, Washington

@kirillzubovsky I never had an AOL email, I assume I'm on the BCC. This email should be triggering a dozen different hueristics.

  • Romestantc Charles M. Romestant (@Romestantc) reported from Seattle, Washington

@VictorJServin @benedictevans For this second one apple does bring a solution with Apple TV. All in one place. Plus now the new smart tv app will help. Content it just parallels what we have with services. You had AOL, now you have fb Twitter insta etc...

  • shortproof Jason Short (@shortproof) reported from Kenmore, Washington

My father in law (86) tried to send an email for the first time in a while (his words). His AOL email stopped working. I had to explain that it was a service and he probably stopped it a long time ago.

AOL Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • ChefEff ChefEff (@ChefEff) reported

@belghast What's sick yet amusing to me is, people like to joke that "people should have to be licensed to use the net"...but the reality is, BBS' and Usenet schooled people in the etiquette. Tolerance for AOL level stupid was not to be found, and quashed with extreme prejudice.

  • TheSheen_ Sheen🇲🇽 (@TheSheen_) reported

Damn. I miss AOL Instant Messenger.

  • narcokleptic Monsignor Viagetty the Archbishop of Argegno (@narcokleptic) reported

  • aminnidar Aminnidar (@aminnidar) reported

@Eiggam5955 The folks that continually do that would never have survived "old" internet. I cut my computer 'teeth' in the AOL chat rooms ('member A/S/L...LOL) and by the time they'd gotten their "help" in, there were probably 5 topics behind and Room Mod was ready to bounce them.

  • kohaku503 Ron Dunkilus (@kohaku503) reported

@YlfAndy I grew up poor. First memory was AOL trial disks

  • CatCaliban Franco Isman (not "Mimmo Lella, spring 1944...") (@CatCaliban) reported

@scottlincicome It couldn't be as hard as to cancel AOL years back. Almost excruciating. "Stop following your script. Cancel, cancel, cancel."

  • onetruejp 420 Wobbuffet (@onetruejp) reported

@TanookiKuribo I have a few issues of this. I was penpals with the EIC on ye olde AOL and got sent some. It was trying real hard for that 13 yo male demo back then.

  • RealEric4Real Eric the Red (@RealEric4Real) reported

@mugrimm Gonna be down to one of those old 100 minutes of AOL disks by the time we get anything

  • jsatk Jesse Atkinson (@jsatk) reported

@DKrow @adrielv @incredulist I downloaded so much **** on Napster, etc., on those free AOL CDs and Netzero cause my dad avoided any new bills.
