The State of Things (@stateofthingsuk) reported5/🧵 Now @BarclaysUK wants to close our account and close down the subject, even though they have handled proceeds of crime by Iraqis who continue to try and extort money from us. You only get help from @TheFCA if your name is @Nigel_Farage when it comes to de-banking.

James Roberts (@JamesRoberts330) reportedHey @BarclaysUK @BarclaysUKHelp how long do “Pending Transactions” normally take to appear on the Apple Pay Wallet transactions page?! New customer so just checking I’ve got everything set up correctly. Thanks. James 💙

mark brimblecombe (@markbrimblecom1) reported@Barclays I’ve banked with @BarclaysUK since I was 15 — 43 years without ever being overdrawn or causing a problem. I recently received a notice that my account will be closed because I now currently live overseas. I still hold a British passport, pay UK bills, and plan to return home regularly , and intend to retire in the UK. I completely understand compliance rules, but this feels harsh after four decades of loyalty. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this now common practice for British expats? Feels like loyalty no longer counts for much in modern banking.
