Terrible contradictory customer service from @BarclaysUK @BarclaysUKHelp. Tried to sign up for a current account to add to existing consumer services. Told to register on the app as a new customer, despite having online banking (made this clear). Now locked out of both profiles.

@BarclaysUK just had the misfortune of needing to use a branch in Manchester City centre after queuing at market st branch for 25 mins to be told no counter service getting sent to their only other branch in the city to find out there is a hour que for counter service tinpot outf

@BarclaysUK been on hold for over 50 minutes now. Ridiculous. I’m a potential new customer enquiring about a recent application. I’ve waited 3 weeks so far with no comms, and can’t get through to anyone. Called yesterday, waited 35 minutes for someone to answer and cut me off.

@ScornflakeGrrrl @BarclaysUK everyone I know who banks with them says they have awful customer service (and my dad still hates them for not pulling out of SA during apartheid... he holds a grudge). I bank with co-op and have always had 5* customer service with them! my parents use HSBC and like them too
