Playoffs has form based matchmaking, so after a certain amount of games you should always be matched against players with similar form. Form means +1 for each win and -1 for each loss. But the matchmaking is broken and often just random.

Wolfgang Prüger (@WolfiPr) reported@EASPORTSFIFA @EAHelp It's late april and you still haven't fixed the broken matchmaking in fut champs!!! I'm 8-7 in WL (on PC) and matched against and absolute demon, zero chance he had a similar record. Can you at least try to make Fifa 23 a more enjoyable game?
