As someone pointed out, Channel 4 didn’t broadcast Diana’s funeral, putting on kids cartoons instead. It’s kinda their job so that people on Freeview can watch something else while the others broadcast the gloomy ****, particularly in a pandemic where you can’t leave the house

... plus I get to watch the home highlights/finest TV available (plus some garbage/filler I still enjoy!) Instead of watching what's available on virgin/sky/Freeview, I get to choose whatever when I want. I don't get why others haven't. Other than technical skills/knowledge

@peter4buckley I hardly ever watch TV, just Gogglebox or the odd rare temptation, so never bothered with more than Freeview. I prefer reading, with the radio on. But not today...

@trianabutler @cleanfeed_ttvr @ITV The SD Freeview service is low bitrate MPEG2 with far too many channels crammed on to each mux. But I believe ITV+1 is also 544x540 3/4 resolution! (though most channels use this)

@lennylaw When you have 6 live TV channels available to all on Freeview, and you show the same thing on 5 channels, and close down the sixth, that's just bollocks.

@trianabutler @cleanfeed_ttvr @ITV I didn't se it but that was my first thought. I bet it looked atrocious on the SD Freeview service and ultra low definition on the +1 channel.

@Eliza Football is live on the Red Button. Freeview channel 601. 8pm to 10.15pm. No worries about net signal or time lag.
