Main transmitters (FM/DAB/freeview) etc will most likely have backups but I remember in the big storm of 1987 that wasn’t a huge help, only one AM station (BBC local) managed to remain on air. Worth having some batteries for your radio next to your torch. /7

@Elemjay1 Oh that's really fantastic - now I feel confident I can go into battle with my 'freeview jesus' sword in hand. He is so ridiculous, I sometimes really want to give him a bit of a hug. And then I think, **** it, let him burn in the toxins he spews, nothing to see here etc etc.

@MichaelBensonn Not a single boxing fan in the world would want to see this fight, especially as most people have never even heard of Charr. This would have to be shown on freeview to get people watching

@RE_Neptune @Gooner725 @BBCiPlayer I'm guessing BBC aren't replying about why they use lower quality audio then Netflix, Sky and even their own Freeview. They went to the trouble of putting #InsideMan in UHD, then used a terrible stereo mix with weirdly loud music.

@sgordon_the87 The first set top box we had was a generic DTT box, Freeview launched a few months later, Although the ntl Digital text service featuring subscription channel listings for ITV Digital remained for a good while after Freeview launched, with daily updates.

@jonrog1 @Blankzilla It was never the content, or really the ads that were the issue. It was the tech behind it. I don't know about cable boxes in the US, but set-top boxes for Sky and Freeview and most built-in TV guides and systems for getting to content were slow and awful.
