It's easy to be critical of ITV Racing, as they have no freeview competition, but does that mean we should keep quiet about how poor and shallow it is? Analysis is almost zero and they cram in too many races. The golden years of the BBC and C4 are memories. But bloody good ones!

@salt_veins Instal FreeView on your phone so you can watch tele on it & some well fitting earphones plugged in to block out ALL the noise as hospitals are just SOOO NOISEY & problem solved. If the earphones fit snug, then it doesn't need to be loud. That's what I did. Hospital had free wifi.

@AlStewartOBE ONdigital could have worked with right leadership/strategy. Look at Freeview. Rebranding & vanity channels arrogant, League deal stupid. I tried to do a deal with TiVo in 2000 which would have beaten Sky+ to market. Free channels + pay-lite + online would have found audience.

@MiniShane @JimSterling I mean, we had the same here with analogue. There were still channels that made their money from ad-revenue like ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, and they're still accessible on Freeview since the switch to digital. I just don't see an issue in funding a public institution

@LBC Traded in the equivalent of an all singing & dancing satellite tv service with films and sport plus Netflix thrown in for Freeview with a dodgy signal with half the stations but it does have a little British flag in the corner
