John Woods (@Yorksims) reported@SOLIDLIQUID5 @Queenjunkfood @giffgaff Ofcom own all UK mobile numbers and the networks pay to use them. We never own the number we just pay to use it which is why the networks can disconnect them because of non usage and recycle them if they want to for instance.

Based on what I see on the website, do I have to buy a goody bag to activate the SIM before being able to move my number? If that is so, does the Goody bag then disappear once my number is transferred?

We would recommend looking up a freephone number for the company, and contact them that way - giffgaff Jade

Pietro (@quarterlent) reported@giffgaff Thanks for your response, however have tried all the items suggested ie I have no problem in texting other numbers , goody bag is up to date, turned the phone on and off , have manually reset to 02 uk but all to no avail. Could there be a problem with UK Power number ?
