I was very happy with the PAYG service I had from @giffgaff, and did not want to change, but it was that or a surcharge.

I should’ve known better as it was still their engineer who failed to show up. #Frustrating, but for #giffgaff not to have any means of rectifying the issue is unacceptable. I had to go onto a forum to diagnose what I thought was a device problem. Reset my network settings (no help). And then back top the forum to find a coverage map. Ideally, giffgaff would send alerts to impacted areas so we are aware with this information. And, with connectivity being fundamental to everything we do in the digital world, communication should be treated as high priority as a burst water pipe or gas leak. This is why community-owned networks are so crucial. There is an extra level of care and concern when the issue directly impacts you.

Fred (@fred6279) reported@cyrilnotes @Fremond_ Go to an MVNO network. Essentially of them except Giffgaff have the same priority as regular customers on the main network. Voxi uses Vodafone and Three and is very cheap so I recommend that.
