When ordering a SIM you can choose a free SIM or pre-purchase your first plan, but no further payments will be taken until the SIM is activated on the account after you receive it. Best option I found was to order a Giffgaff SIM (or esim), stick a fiver in it and just top up when required. It usually connects to the AIS network here so calls etc all good. Serves 2 purposes with being able to receive UK SMS also

Fred (@fred6279) reported@cyrilnotes @Fremond_ Go to an MVNO network. Essentially of them except Giffgaff have the same priority as regular customers on the main network. Voxi uses Vodafone and Three and is very cheap so I recommend that.
