    @FernungRyan @a2hosting @HostGator @HGSupport @EnduranceIntl HG doesn't have any engineers. Most of EIG's support is from third world phone & chat labor farms. EIG's actual engineers are a skeleton crew handling something like 50 different hosting brands and millions of customers. It's really bad. I'm just saying there's better options.

    I have a larger amount of patience than most people for these things, but in my entire web career, I've never dealt with customer service so staggeringly bad. And the poor tech I'm talking to, he's just the guy answering the phone cleaning up someone else's mess @HGSupport

    Update on the @HostGator website migration saga. After tweeting my problem with HG tagged, they worked on migrating my client's sites. They sent her an email saying both domains were migrated & their files transferred. In fact only ONE domain's files were transferred.

    @ericcovino @hover @HeyFlywheel @kinsta I guess I can only tell my personal story, but I don't see any upside to Kinsta versus Flywheel when I know for a fact that FW's support is incredibly responsive and solved a lot of major issues for me that evenLeadpages and HostGator, and $200+/hr developers were struggling with

    Lesson learned - never never never use @HostGator when it comes to hosting. Their hosting migration process is abysmal as is their customer support. Not to mention their lack of communication during a very delayed process.

    @HardeepAsrani @SiteGround I never tried their service apart from domains. I heard some bad experience from my few of clients with their WordPress sites even with HostGator. Well for me @milesweb seems to be a decent option with far better support.

    Hostgator's preinstalled website builder is not terrible but its definitely clunky and I hope they'll consider refunding me the money I spend for business ecommerce option... I'm switching to woocommerce.

    @HostGator free website, happy. I paid more then 4K to @hostgator in 10 years. They shut down my 10 year old website without any notice, any reason. I fought a month and finally I have transferred my website to A2 hosting hassle free. If you have any idea about @HostGator

    @HGSupport My website is dead in the water, infected by malware. Ronnie, a great support person, suggested I upgrade from 'Find' to 'Fix.' BUT your portal has a bug and I can't upgrade. Ronnie couldn't upgrade me either. It's up to your development team now. Fix it.

    @backloggery I work in web hosting, feel free to DM me if you need help finding a new host and/or migrating the site. Hostgator sucks. They are owned by EIG, a company who buys hosting companies and tries to run them as cheaply as they can.

    @_nataliestroud I spent the first few years using things like godaddy, hostgator, and site5 with cPanel... It's the absolute worst! These days I'm happier poking around a shell in a digital ocean server. I've learned some linux-fu that way!

    @Dieulot @AndyDavies @justinavery It’s a shitting hosting problem - Bluehost/hostgator etc crap out when with even a handful of GET requests in short sequence. Even with page caching those shared hosts easily start throwing 500 errors with just a few simultaneous visitors

    @HGSupport A random person on twitter showed me it was the gutenberg plug in, by reading the error message. Wordpress kinda rammed Gutenberg down my throat. I disabled it and the site is up. I'm doing my own backup now. Thanks. When it's downloaded i'll try to update again

    ejayo Hi Ejayo I took a look at the errors on your site. Try disabling the Gutenberg Plugin by renaming if with "off" at the end. The other error looks like a caching plugin Hostgator "EIG" use, try turning that off also by renaming it.

Nobody on these referral sites is honest about how awful HostGator's customer service is, so I chose them. After research, I found that they have notoriously bad service.

    @HGSupport I'm not going to dm. I see that you have a years-long history of making it impossible to cancel. Searching "Hostgator cancel" bring up instances of you running this scam for several years. Fix the link in the emails you send. Make sure the cancellation form works.

    @trish_lessard @WebInbound @HubSpot @wpengine WP Engine is an over-priced shared hosting service.. They're better than "Bluehost" and "Hostgator" (both EIG brands) and "Godaddy", but it doesn't take much to be better than garbage. You can actually get far better managed hosting at lower prices if you shop around :)

    @_BranLynn I know the feeling. Constantly hitting F5 to see if your site is ok. Hated the fear of someone being in my site. Been seeing a lot of tweets lately about Hostgator and malware. Fingers crossed but never had an issue at my current host.🤞 plus I have crazy passwords now
