Not every Wordpress problem has to do with theme or plugin, singularly. Also, there's an outstanding malware problem HostGator was supposed to solve and call me about, and did phone call.

You may want to start looking at alternatives like Fresh Roasted Hosting. Their support is much more responsive, and the uptime has been solid in my experience.

There was a company called “theplanet” that you could rent dedicated servers from cheap. You’d have to host your own sites back then so was a great group of users active on the company’s forum and you’d never miss a thing. Think hostgator starting, Brent Oxely was posting, Gordon with putfile, all kinds of websites I can’t remember but would all show up there to get hosted.

For me, it's been two days (2 chat sessions and 3 phone calls at various times). The only email I received was last week telling me that our server had been patched and I didn't need to take any action. Then, a few days later, I woke up to our sales guys and editors asking why all of our sites are down. Tomorrow I will be looking at migration options.

You haven't sent an email update in over 60 hours! 9 days of downtime with absolutely zero ETA is a massive failure. As a system administrator, I know this level of outage is unacceptable.
