@HSBC_UK I will be watching HSBC's position on this issue closely. If HSBC takes the same, snotty line as Halifax, I will take my business elsewhere in a flash. I want a bank, nothing more, not a holier than thou virtue signaller.

@sarinhamac @HSBC_UK Implicit in that pretence is disdain for the customer base, without whom, there is no business. Also implicit is the value judgement that a different set of ideas is so beyond the pale that it makes the holder of such ideas unsuitable as a customer. Imagine a baker refuses to

@HSBC_UK Really poor customer service department. Can think of a few pronouns to call them, Gemma wasn't one of them.

  • TuttingM Tutting Maud (@TuttingM) reported

@yrhenwrach @HSBC_UK Time to move my business account. Poor service anyway and high charges. Anyone got any recommendations? I need business and personal, adult and children.

@MForstater @HSBC_UK I have been a corporate customer for longer - what are you doing to protect customers from bigotry like this horrendous person?

  • double_drax Paul Goodwin (@double_drax) reported

@HSBC_UK Of course you support their view that people who disagree with pronouns should go elsewhere

@sarinhamac @HSBC_UK Ah no, you have missed the point. I support a voluntary pronoun badge (so long as it is truly optional). What I do not support is a business with a rap sheet of unethical behaviour pretending that their bias in favour of a particular set of ideas is the moral high ground.

  • EddieCussen Eddie Cussen (@EddieCussen) reported

@ShaistaGohir @HalifaxBank @HSBC_UK I imagine that Halifax staff are addressed using pronouns on a daily basis by colleagues and customers. Is there any way that doesn't happen ? They can now choose (it's an optional scheme) to put the pronoun on their namebadge. Can you explain what the problem is with this?

  • DavidJFoord David Foord (@DavidJFoord) reported

@HSBC_UK Why is it vital people get to be themselves in the work place? Most people have a work persona, this is especially true in customer facing roles. You don't get tp be yourself at work, you never have. At work you're expected to be professional.
