@epaveseDC @IBKR What do you mean of course you have control when they are given back, its called selling, when a long sells his shares the brokers is forced to recover the shares to enable the customer to sell.

@IBKR IBKR hates SPACS, they won’t give you any margin on them. And they mess up the symbol change on the merger freezing you out of trading. I have a significant account and will be moving it elsewhere. You guys are terrible!!!!!!

@epaveseDC @IBKR Maybe the rules should be changed so only you can borrow shares from another customer of your own broker, that way their is very little risk of this happening since the broker is always net zero the shares, every share he lends he owns.

@IBKR Seriously, the WORST customer service I have ever experienced with any company in any industry for whatever reason.....ever! Your CEO goes on CNBC and wonders aloud why nobody borrows on margin from IB. Charge more interest and then hire some customer service

@DanielWiener_ @IBKR Hmmm. no , that's another issue (and doesn't even work like you describe). When your shares are lent out, you don't have much control over when they are given back. Unless your shares are actually in your name and not in street name (which is very very rare for a retail investor)

@DanielWiener_ @IBKR The problem he's describing is how to deliver the shares to the new longs (buyers or call options exercisers). He has a point. But the solution is not to stop the buying, but margin call the sellers
