    I attempted to set-up an account with @IBKR Interactive Brokers. Successfully made it to the point where test deposits were made to my bank account. 1) Login to verify the transactions. "Your account not elligible... 2) Attempt to reach support thru their email. 3. You can't email, you must use chat. 4) Attempt to use chat. 5) You must login to your account to use chat. 4) Attempt to login and get the response "Your application has been cancelled" 5. Sigh. 6. Call live support. 7) "We can't help you. You'll need to start a new application with a new username." 8) Enter my information with a new username. 9) "You already have one or more existing open accounts. Log into Client Portal to open additional accounts." But I can't login. 10. Return to step 4. 11. Repeat until death. IB may not say they've outsourced their operations to the DMV, but there will be signs.

    @IBKR Why is your platform the worst of all platforms? Zero support, ridiculously obnoxious requirement to install a phone app just to login? 1990's GUI? 5-10 sec delay every time you click something? Broken withdraw system that wont send notifications to your phone but then says you've exceeded withdrawals for the month? 🤡🤡🤡

    @rogerhamilton apparently utilization has dropped from 97% back to 68% on @IBKR while so has been going down. Seems suspicious @JWesChristian

    Does anyone actually use @IBKR Desktop successfully? After my 8+ years as a professional trader, it is by far the worst platform I've ever used.

    Just found out: even maxed on margin @IBKR, you can still buy MORE shares. Hedged my $TNZ shares w/ buying cheap Sept 2026 $16 puts (lost money on puts, but ROI god-tier). Drops initial/maintenance margin ~20-25%, giving the space to load more of Tenaz before it reaches CAD50+

    One does not simply call @IBKR for support and get an answer. The hold music is being etched into my brain…. Minute by minute. But today is the day I hold until I get an answer. Too many lost hours. Zero productivity until this is done. Sometimes you just got to make something a priority to make it happen.

    @IBKR TWS is buggy and antiquated. IBKR Desktop is so full of bugs it's barely usuable atm. What are we supposed to use? Why is software quality so low for such a large broker?

    @IBKR To be specific - the web platform is crap (I cannot talk to other options) it logs you out within minutes, and customer support is non existent, and when you finally navigate and send them the issue, they never respond. The mobile phone IB is more stable, but the options prices are not real time - ypu all need to pay more for that privilege. Thank god I never sent them significant funds to invest with them 🙏🏻 Ah they flip me some stuff to read lol lol wont waste my time. Low tier brokerage. You have leas than 5% of my money and soon zero.

    @jockoett @IBKR Private equity (PE) is like investors pooling money to buy companies, fix them up, and sell for profit. Simple breakdown: 1. Raise funds: Get cash from rich folks/pensions. 2. Buy company: Use that cash + loans to acquire (e.g., IBKR via buyout). 3. Improve: Cut costs, grow business. 4. Sell/IPO: Exit for profit, pay back loans/investors. Money flow: Investors → PE firm → Target company (debt added) → Improvements → Sale profits back to investors/PE. It makes sense for efficiency gains and high returns, but risks debt overload.
