@TaekwonV82 @IBKR With great power comes great responsibility. If you're planning to DCA into your account anyway, then you should have no problem using margin equal to your next few months of your planned DCA cash flow. Caveat #1: As long as it doesn't equal more than 25% of your portfolio (that way you could theoretically lose half). Caveat #2: You could be more aggressive with margin borrowing if you have backup Liquidity options elsewhere (high yield savings, life insurance loans, HELOC, 401(k) loan etc.. If you itemized deductions margin is deductible, so a 5.59% cost to borrow is more like 4% or less (depending on your bracket). Case in point... I got assigned 100 shares of $CRCL at $117 earlier this month and bought another 100 shares at $114 & have been rolling covered calls upward all month. Put premium + Appreciation + Call premium + Upward rolls > 1 month of margin interest < 0.5% per month
