The biggest issue with this format is that they didn’t broadcast the sessions on ITV, so you’ll watch Quali on Saturday and then on Sunday you’ll hear Jim Rosnethal tell you another driver was on pole. Madness.

@gillesoffthenet @JohnBrewin_ We had something like that for the kitchen. BBC1 around 21, ITV around 25, BBC2 around 27 and C4 around 30. Then nothing. I used to think that was a terrible waste.

@RossMc11 @mumoss Pretty sure it was Blind Date, but I know ITV used to flash the numbers up after the draw and then go to a newsflash at the next commercial break to read out the numbers properly. I bought a lottery ticket on the first day of issue. Kept the ticket, but no idea where it is now.

@CymroSion @ITV And one of the problems of trying to solve them being devo-ignorant is to make them say “of England” and “in England” but the assumption was that they’d then notice the gaps. They haven’t, they now just add “in England” every other sentence and say nothing about the other 3.
