@Stephen_Neal @andyAVAVsystems @fsphil Very true. NTSC worked better on 405 apparently, phase errors less of an issue. ITV companies, like ATV were already producing in colour (16mm mainly) for international sales, wanted colour 405. BBC said no, band I too susceptable to interference etc

@JennieGow @bbcf1 I remember the first F1 race on ITV. It was around 5am, Moss was live in the studio before the race. When asked about @therealdcf1 ‘s chances he replied “The problem with Coulthard is that he’s just not enough of a bastard”. Jim Rosenthal nervously has to apologise!

Is Saturday night tv the worse for viewing, last night on channel 5 we had almost five hours of the royal family road show . Heaven help us . On ITV we had Britains got talent. With the usual crap choir. A handful of kids , a guys playing the piano who horrendous .
