From a technological PoV, the scammer used walmart-corp[.]com for sending the press release, with an MX record pointing to NameCheap's private email service - while Walmart are associated with a record related to Proofpoint (pphosted).

@Thesecretinves2 I used to go with Namecheap for all my domains, cheaper rates and I like their service, but have recently moved most over to Google domains. I do a lot with Google so just easier to keep it in one place. The domain registrar itself is not as big of a deal as the web host though

@NeilRyanPierce This isn't for me. It's godaddy. It's a client. Ge already had it before.Not a choice on this one. Yeah maybe a dns flush on my pc cause not working still. Not a great experience. Namecheap I use for my personal for sure.

Actually I have a funny story about NameCheap support too, I'm pretty sure I broke their integration with an obscure gTLD operator once and I've never gotten it fixed because the domain name is embarrassing and I don't want to Make It A Thing.

@spences10 I used namecheap but moved off… get this story. I archived my eBay auctions. eBay found the html and sent a take down notice to namecheap. Rather than contacting me to ask what was going on, they suspended my domain.

@ColleenMBrady This is my first time using Godaddy. Im building for a client in webflow , I'm trying to help and point the domain he has at webflow. Google or namecheap i never get this problem. It wont accept my CNAME webflow proxy in the DNS.
