She no longer had a driving licence or passport so ultimately had to switch because Santander had restricted access. And she had the account for years and never had she been asked for this.

Garry Peat (@RidgewayRam) reported@santanderuk This continued for a further 24 hrs with over 35 new accts being opened. I, therefore, had to call to explain the situation. The call handler was helpful and said he would close the new accts but I was staggered that as a customer facing employee he was not aware of the situation
