@MorganBroadcast How awful for you! And for it to happen to someone who has applied all the rules around pins and passwords is kinda scary. @VirginActiveUK and @santanderuk should be ashamed of themselves. They should be doing everything to help you and prevent this from happening to others

John Latchford (@JohnLatchford) reported
@MorganBroadcast Yet again a bank @santanderuk proves itself incapable of the simplest of tasks - like ringing the correct number when you have had your phone stolen. Why do they get away with the pathetic level of service.

Elizabeth Ayres (@AyresElizabeth) reported
@MorganBroadcast Horrendous, I sincerely hope @Santanderuk support you and fast! I have online banking with them too, and will be watching your story closely as I'm appalled at their response so far.

@helengrantsays @santanderuk I feel sorry for her, but there's a major hole in this story. How did they get her pin code? It had to have been somewhere in her bag or on her phone. She claims it wasn't written down, but if it was in her phone somewhere that's the same thing. Many people put it in there.

Myz Lilith (@MyzLilith) reported
@bethanyrutter @santanderuk You have to be logged in to the banking app to view your pin. So if a criminal can see it, they're also already in a position to transfer your entire balance to another account. But the fact that these people managed to unlock the phone *and* access the banking app is terrifying.

@MorganBroadcast Oh shot, this is awful. How could you possibly have predicted this? Come on @santanderuk sort it out

@helengrantsays @santanderuk They do, but they also have a legitimate argument for negligence because she went in knowing the security was down. It's not right, but we all know that banks don't like paying out money if they can squirm their way out of it.

@MorganBroadcast @NeilMackay78 @santanderuk Charlotte, sorry you are suffering in this manner. This gives me horrors; so many synergies with own fears expressed to Santander in past over security & customer service Your’s worst case of all what ifs coming together - proving IS possible Your thread a public service

@MorganBroadcast So sorry to hear about this - terrible for it to happen, but the reactions of @santanderuk & @VirginActiveUK must have made a difficult situation so much worse.

@MorganBroadcast @pussinpjs1 @santanderuk Have you tried contacting the Financial Ombudsman Service to see if they can get Santander to admit responsibility & refund your account?
