After a long wait on hold to @santanderuk, a lad (chewing) answers. Me: "I'm told there's an update on my case?" Him: "Oh yeah, you ain't gettin' your money back" Me: *broken* "But...why?" Him: "Because they used your pin number." This is where it gets interesting (sort of)

@MorganBroadcast @santanderuk This and tweet after are infuriating. Hope all gets resolved soon and to your satisfaction. As a @santanderuk Select customer of 15+ yrs I’m keen to see the outcome. If they don’t fix things, I’m changing banks to one that supports rather than blames innocent victims of crime.

@fascinatorfun @santanderuk I'm amazed, because I find Santander's security quite intrusive. They block so many of my purchases, for much smaller amounts than in Charlotte's thread. You'd think all these purchases and transfers would trigger an alarm.

@PeterDbrash @MorganBroadcast Oh, this is giving me the pure horrors. Ay, I just had a look at my mobile banking app and it can give me my PIN details. If someone got into your app, they would have had nor trouble getting easy use of your cards. It is awful that @santanderuk are blaming you.

@MorganBroadcast This definitely has to be resolved by the companies who failed to keep your belongings, data and finances safe. I really hope this is resolved swiftly and @santanderuk and @VirginActiveUK do the honest thing and help you to bring those who did this to account.

@MorganBroadcast Sorry to hear it. Especially given that the PIN is easily accessed via the app, I really hope @santanderuk do the right thing here. My dad is a customer of theirs and it’s worrying to know that he wouldn’t be protected in a similar scenario.

@santanderuk Tried on 3 occasions to pay cash in through the cashpoint in Wigston Leics. Each time that facility hasn't been working. I can't get to a branch in normal opening hours.Doesn't help that you closed the Oadby branch either. Maybe time to look at closing my account

For them to have known or guessed my pin is impossible, yet @santanderuk refuses to entertain any other explanation. But - it's up to the provider to prove I've been negligent or fraudulent, which they can't. Simply saying my PIN was used does not mean I authorised the purchase
