@LizKershawDJ @santanderuk Google Opening times (most banks nowadays are closed early on Saturdays; also, does the ATm allow cheques to be deposited...? Some banking apps also allow scanning of cheques... unfortunately physcial banking for good or bad are shutting down due to digitisation.

@JonBatchelor8 @LizKershawDJ @santanderuk Also most banks allow you to pay a cheque in via the ATM/cash point machine or at home via the app. There is no issue here apart from making a mountain out of a mole hill.

  • twinmaker twinmaker (@twinmaker) reported

@LizKershawDJ @santanderuk You wouldn't have this problem with a proper British bank

  • marktague 🇺🇦mark tague (@marktague) reported

@LizKershawDJ @santanderuk It won’t help you on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday but you should be able to pay it into a Post Office with your debit card, it takes a few days to clear but it’s easier then schlepping to a far away branch.

  • johnedwards0955 John Edwards Reform UK Southampton Test (@johnedwards0955) reported

@Daren0109 @LizKershawDJ @santanderuk Yet people are withdrawing record amounts of cash to help manage thier spending.

  • Sifiturbo Simon Fisher (@Sifiturbo) reported

@LizKershawDJ @santanderuk Use the Post Office, if they haven't shut that down as well ...

  • cleo_crick CleoCrick 💙 (@cleo_crick) reported

@LizKershawDJ @santanderuk Not everybody wants to/is able to bank online nor have access to IT. I have switched my custom to the bank which has retained an open branch in my area.

@cdud11 @MoneySavingExp @santanderuk from experience traditional banks dont bother telling you when rates change, new versions of accounts, new types of accounts come out so news alerts from Google etc help along with regularly checking MSE pages.
