It is totally unfair to people like me who prefer to use branches rather than use online banking. I will be complaining to my MP and writing to newspapers highlighting this issue

They've had a few customers report similar issue with Amazon. Plenty of funds available, details are all correct, tsb have confirmed not declining.

Brian Blades (@BrianBlades11) reported@Dennis_Porter_ Yes I had the same problem with @TSB. They claimed it was to protect me for unreliable crypto’s when in reality, they simply can’t compete. I moved to Starling Bank who area crypto friendly. No bank should be able to tell me what I can do with my money or where I can spend it.

macthenaif (@macthenaif1) reported@TSB Trying to log in to my a/c. Fill in User id, password, memorable info. then got asked to tick one of two telephone nos. provided to receive an One Time Password on. The nos. are not current but old ones not in use. So I am stuck.
