@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK same with BT Sport, after dad died in Oct. Had a late put charge as bank a/c frozen and we hadn’t seen the bill. Also SSE handed the elec/gas bill to “compassionate bad debt company” as I refused to pay until we had probate and house sold. A lot of companies need to do better

@GeorgeMonbiot Just saw your story about @vodafoneuk. You quote VUK as say “We do not have a policy of making it difficult for bereaved families to get in touch with us to cancel contracts.” Your question wasn't about difficulty contacting them, but canceling. Omissions matter.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Not going to lie, this will prevent me ever going back to Vodafone. I left them 2 years ago, for, among other issues, awful customer service. This just reinforces my view. Disgraceful behaviour by a company.

@AlertRedcar @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Yes. The point is that they accept nothing, will only talk to one person, (even if confused), and are hostile and unpleasant. They keep accounts going and set debt collectors on people quickly and without notice. Vodafone, it appears, have not a **** to give.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I went through this when my husband died. You'd think this had never happened to their customers before. My electricity bill is still in his name although he died over ten years ago; it was just too much hassle to change it ("Please put him on the line...").

@AnthonyBarnett @VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot 2/2 tried the shop, customer service person rude and disinterested, said it’s only possible to get a new contract online from the bots. What is the point of having Vodafone stores? They must be a terrible company to work for.
