@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK We left them many years ago because of their shoddy customers service. @gordongkennedy spent hours arguing with them and no one had died. I can't imagine how awful that has been for your Dad and family.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Judging by the staff I've known that work at their Shared Service Centre in Budapest, it's always struck me as a miserable and aggressive company to work for. Horrible place they say. That's company culture where the attitude from the top permeates the whole entity.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Had a very similar situation with @ScottishPower THE single worst company I had to deal with at a very difficult time after my mum died in February.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Seems to be a problem with other phone providers too. Months after we sent my dad’s death certificate etc phone company threatened my mum with debt collectors and kept asking to speak to my dad! Only got sorted when we threatened them with going to the regulator.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I had completely the opposite experience when my dad died and we need to cancel his @Guardian subscription. It was literally the easiest thing I had to do at the time. Lloyds Bank bereavement service cocked things up. All staff were great but it lead to them giving mum £500.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK This sorry tale echoes my experience administering my mothers estate. For me it was an internet company (though there were others similarly obstructive). I raised a complaint about an individual who didnt even offer condolences & was assured their behaviour would be addressed.

@DeamerZoe @VodafoneUK Absolutely ridiculous isn't it! Never experienced such terrible service from any company. No department seems to coordinate or speak with each other!

@DaveLGilmore @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK They will all put it down to 'DPA','GDPR' ...or whatever it's called this week!

@saffy_ron @VodafoneUK Ugh that's awful! Unfortunately all these companies are awful, I had so much paperwork to cancel my dad's contracts. They really need to sort this out, it's completely unacceptable.
