@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Unfortunately George, this seems to be the way businesses have chosen to deal with data protection and a post-covid world. They have quietly changed algorithms and processes in ways that destroy customer service. Vodaphone are not alone. But it stinks.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Massive sympathy but the truth is most companies just rely on the technology to provide customer service. When it goes wrong service is woeful. Leave Vodafone or Lloyds Bank or Virgin media etc etc and expect to get the same crap service at the new company.

@VodafoneUK @speckyninja Here's a thought, why not just ask for this person's contact number, via DM, and THEN CALL THEM AND FIX THIS!

@parsl @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Ever noticed how companies can do everything on the phone, take an order, take a payment etc? But when it comes to making a complaint you have to put it in writing. It might be because 1 in 5 adults in the UK are functionally illiterate. 20% of complaints gone straight away!

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I am sorry to hear George that you and your father have been put through this stress by tax-dodging cowboys Vodafone. Follow my example, NEVER take out a contract, use Pay As You Go. You took the right steps, cancel the contract. @Ofcom

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I'm currently having a similar experience with @BritishGas who have not sorted out an over charging. They keep me on the phone for hours and then say they will call me back when it's sorted. Haven't heard from them in weeks. Corporate customer care is not fit for purpose.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I had a nightmare with @vodafone in 2019. They contradicted themselves, accused me of fraud and theft etc, anything but do their job. Then I found out they had lied to my elderly mother to make a sale. The entire family is now not with them and never will. I tell everyone I can.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Vodafone treated me appallingly until I got in touch with them via Twitter. At which point, things improved. Corporate bullying. Awful.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Tried in vain for weeks to cancel Vodafone subscription to mobile broadband. Have to conclude they deliberately make it impossible. Frustrated, I unilaterally cancelled my direct debit. Now I’ve unpaid fees and it’s dinged my credit score. Is this deliberate policy? @VodafoneUK
