@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Cruelty at its worst, wrapped in a corporate veil. If this outrageous practice is large-scale, it seems deliberate to inflate the number of accounts & income as high as they get away with.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Sorry to hear this and condolences. Also lost my mother earlier this year, and phoned @Plusnet to cancel her Internet service. Very helpful and cancelled without charge as should be expected in these circumstances.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Same thing happened to us. They never canceled the account when requested and then appointed a debt collector to recover a 150 euro. Absolute disgrace

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK An unbelievable number of replies having the same experience. I too had problems cancelling a fibre broadband contract that couldn’t be installed. Security questions were ridiculous!

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Im having a similar problem leaving virgin media - asking questions I can’t answer then refusing to cancel my contract as I can’t prove it’s me - even though they rang me!!! - but they are still billing me even though I’m not using their service. Had 4 calls like that now. 😡
