Trooper Beak (@ItsMeBeak) reported
@SurreyRoadCops @waze I wonder if this could actually fall foul of the Malicious Communications Act. Dont get me wrong its a good way to get people to slow up. Just genuinely curious given how easily that act is used. one could argue doing this could cause anxiety. Legal buffs educate us pls ty

Global_Mongrel (@Global_Mongrel) reported
@SurreyRoadCops @waze Well it worked last week. Took 45mins to leave #Hamble. Only 1.5 miles! Even @HantsPolice had issues leaving HQ at Hamble
-
John Carroll | (@YoSignals) reported
@SurreyRoadCops @waze A great example of managing an issue over fixing the cause.
-
Anthony Meek (@AMeek13) reported
@BeebsG @SurreyRoadCops @waze You tend to see traffic police stationed at accident / speeding hot spots if wave happens to warn drivers before they reach that area then they are likely to slow down before reaching the at risk area. Would you rather prevent an accident altogether or convict them afterwards?

ABW (@Foxtrot747) reported
@___MR__X @MashwaniAzhar @waze Like I said, Flow and depth sensors can send live data via 3g to keep the "maps" updated regardless of when and where a barrier is broken or if India releases water to cause flash flood.

DungeonMistressC seeks vengeance (@dngnmstrs_c) reported
Hey, #waze, how is it that the only time you you ever recommend a new route for me, the new route has horrible construction? I'm not mad, I just want to talk. GPS apps are the reason for my trust issues
-
Greg N (@n00dles71) reported
@Andy52935416 @SurreyRoadCops @waze Wind your neck in Andy. Burglars don't kill 5 people a day in the UK, sh!t drivers do. I'd love to hear your grand plan to fix this horrible statistic that didn't involve enforcement.
-
gordonjcp (@gordonjcp) reported
@JeremyBennett @SurreyRoadCops @waze How do you see that working? Bear in mind that GPS can't actually put cars on the correct road most of the time and all our brand new electric cars think they're in the middle of a field when you drive on a motorway that's been there for 40 years...
-
Dr. Helen Cooper (@Egmel) reported
@YoSignals @SurreyRoadCops @waze I think the question is how do we fix the cause? Why do people speed? If it's not something the police can fix then they are just using all the tools available to them to keep us safe. Roll on driverless cars; no speeding, no looking at a mobile, no intoxication, no road rage.
-
Cars are weak yo (@ExcuseThisDust) reported
@SurreyRoadCops @waze We need more speed cameras... And to be done with the little signs that warn drivers to slow down lest they be caught on camera. Let the first ticket be the warning; why enable perpetual law breaking?
-
andy archer (@aaarchiee) reported
@SurreyRoadCops @waze Two issues here: 1. Waze works on moble phone apps its not a standalone satnav. 2. To post any warnings takes a few steps so, if,as the police officers are saying, they are doing it while patroling, they are braking the law using a phone while in control of a motor vehicle...

davidpatrick (@davidpatrick) reported
@Andy52935416 @SurreyRoadCops @waze let me explain then, the "disconnect between keyboard and chair" is the implication that the disconnect lies with yourself not understanding. I was simply using your words back against you. Commonly referred to in IT Depts as PEBKAC - Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair!
-
Andy (@Andy52935416) reported
@n00dles71 @SurreyRoadCops @waze I'll say what I like. What horrible static would you like me to fix. The fact that the UK statistically is one of the safest places in the world to drive. We have the 3rd lowest number of fatalities on the road in the whole planet
-
Standing In Traffic (@standingtraffic) reported
@deafmilkybarkid @SurreyRoadCops @waze I do it myself. I'd rather see them slow down before they reach my PUP than after and then slam on! Newsflash: if you're slamming your brakes on AFTER you've seen the police, it's too late!
-
RJ (@RiggerJay_Photo) reported
@AyOcorn Of course the dangling chains etc to warn of hight issue are just blown through Most are following blindly waze or Google maps no reading or believing signs
-
Road to Traffic Safety (@RoadtoTrafficS1) reported
You don't need Waze or a RADAR detector to avoid hefty traffic fines. Here are some safe habits that will help you avoid fines! => Slow down and drive reasonably => Don't drive drunk or drugged => Buckle up => Put the phone down => Use cruise control to avoid speeding

MB (@MBallham) reported
@Dominiquetaegon Are you complaining about driving in London during carnival? Get the waze app... never had a navigation issue with it
-
David McCarthy (@Andy8671025) reported
@DriveTeslaca @JoshuaMakeSmile I had this issue with NOA when heading to TX from California. Open road with no traffic. Speed set to 75. Going through the towns on 10.12.2 was not enjoyable. Hopefully 69.1, as well as my ever wishful thinking of Tesla implementing waze, will fix these.
-
davidpatrick (@davidpatrick) reported
@Andy52935416 @SurreyRoadCops @waze Andy, it seems in this conversation that there is a disconnect between the chair you are sitting in and the keyboard you are using. This is the Roads section, so why would you be wanting them to investigate other things? As they say, other departments for the other issues.

Emyr Derfel (@emyrderfel) reported
@TheRegister What's the problem, the officers were honestly telling Waze where they were?
-
wayne wentworth (@waynefontane007) reported
@SurreyRoadCops @waze If you have to put some fake Waze markers to help slow down drivers and possibly save lives then great idea. To all the people moaning about this well shame on you!
-
Drew White (@drewsnx) reported
@farrellray @theeyecollector I think that's true. I've sat in cars with friends & family who have blamed everything from supermarkets for opening, to Waze for giving away shortcuts, to the council, to weather, to bus passengers for being slow to board.. in fact every other driver is "the problem" at times.
-
AJ (@Ajayawardena) reported from Royal Leamington Spa, England
@SurreyRoadCops @waze This is better than getting points/fine, so no problems 👍
-
Anthony Meek (@AMeek13) reported
@BeebsG @SurreyRoadCops @waze It also has the ability to report potholes, roadkill, stopped vehicles on hard shoulders or in the middle of the road, road closures, road works, broken traffic lights! All of these improve your driving because you have advanced notice more often of these hazards.
-
CyclingMikey (@MikeyCycling) reported
@rachel_norfolk @SurreyRoadCops @waze Firstly, that's entirely wrong. There were police at the locations they dropped, how you choose to interpret that is up to you. Most of all, why would you be upset at drivers being persuaded to slow down in the fear of being caught? Shame on you.

_title_here (@_title_here) reported
@SurreyRoadCops @waze Reckon I will be in the minority here but as a Waze user and someone who keeps an eye for police on Waze I don’t have a problem with this. Keeps me alert to everything going on. If not there, it’s marked as such.

JC (@Jcdonalibee) reported
I feel so stressed for my grab driver. Kuya drove 25 minutes to get to me when it could have been 4 mins if he didn’t follow @waze 😭 Fix your **** waze damn

Bobson Dugnutt (@B_ISTO__ARS) reported
@Tim_Oldland @waze I’ve only ever had that problem in the UK, which has ******* shocking phone signal coverage in my experience. I bet the US is no better mind

Cycling taliban (@Lord_nikon0131) reported
@GoingElectricUK @SurreyRoadCops @waze Stop breaking the law and supporting other that do and you won’t have a problem.

@waze the verification via email is not working. Waze is expecting a code but the email doesn't contain a code
