  In like 1997 an adult man found my AOL profile and emailed me just to tell me that I seemed very stupid and and that all my interests were stupid and I emailed him back that I was sorry but that I was 14 and that might have something to do with it.

  @neogeo8man Honestly a fascinating bit of internet history fluff to me that my generation HATED "lol" and saw it as a sign of endless inept low-IQ ****-humor AOL/CompuServ migrants. Then we gradually started using it ironically, like "lol" for "how stupid". Then we just started meaning "heh"

  This makes me really sad because AX used to kick complete *** I loved it so much. I started going when I was in my mid-teens, one time I hung out with a bunch of the cast of 03 FMA because of an AOL fan chat they'd come and groupwatch the new episodes with us in, Mike McFarland bought us lunch because my friend was rude and thought we weren't paying....

But public markets are sending a different message: if AI makes software cheaper to build, then existing distribution gets more valuable, not less. The winners may not just be the companies inventing new AI tools. They may also be the operators buying tired digital properties and rebuilding them with AI, automation, and brutal cost discipline.
