A lot of the challenges FB is facing are hardly new and could easily have been predicted / prevented. AOL went through this at scale. - they had a dedicated privacy and security team to look at new products for holes. - they has content moderators exposed to worst of society

Hey @VerizonSupport tweeting you on 5G as I reboot the refurbished piece of 💩 you recently sent me so the workout I’m streaming doesn’t look like it came with 500 hours of free AOL Why is your service such an unreliable mess? Why am I forced to do this to get what I pay for?

OMG we’re ducking reminiscing in this group chat right now about AOL, DSL, Party line, Mapquest, burning CD’s/limewire, MySpace, having no cell phones and playing outside 🥺 really being a 90’s baby is the ****!

About once per month, we receive an “order” through the “Contact Us” section of our website. The messages are almost always from an AOL email address and never include payment info (thankfully). I’ve never placed an order this way. Do any websites actually work like this?

@writinghub2 Never heard of Bebo, but definitely did the whole AOL instant messenger thing. Ugh... Dial up. Anyway, Xanga was around 1999-03ish. It was like a blog but you could comment and give "e-props" which were basically likes. MySpace took over after that. It was all the rage at my HS.

@kylegrubbs4 @DebsSweet @AOLSupportHelp Thanks but as much as I wanna get my account back I don’t wanna get someone to do something illegal for me. Besides, it’s AOLs job to help us, they are legally obliged! It’s shameful that they don’t.

Next weekend, i'm going to stream a game I played the hell out of on PC when I was a kid. Some thing me and my brother have fond memories of. A game that required an AOL Internet service back in the days that people got VIA trial discs if we wanted to do online PvP.
