@version3point1 @cranium84 @driverbod125 2½ for me. I had Hotmail rather than AOL, never had MySpace and I'm saying half for owning an encyclopædia. Never owned one, but did use the library one.

  • pattersonjeffa Jeff Patterson (@pattersonjeffa) reported

@SlenderSkeptic Gmail, it's Google. I've been using it forever, no issues. It reads your mail, I think, though. Pretty sure they all do. AOL and Hotmail are free. I'm not sure if Yahoo is still a thing. Most ISPs in the States offer free webmail.

  • ShortFormErnie Ernie Smith (@ShortFormErnie) reported

@joepie91 Much as I appreciate the early ’net, it was more rough-edged than often given credit for today, and it was partly because of these kinds of issues. (As anyone with an AOL domain on their email address could attest in 1995.)

  • JoshKulinski Josh Kulinski (@JoshKulinski) reported

Ive had two conversations in the past week where people didn’t know AOL stood for America Online. I’ve never felt older in my life.

@HookerBarbie1 Yeah I had the same problem, I started just copy/pasting it from Evernote or OneNote into a message instead of using the built in function. Also secure emails (proton, SO) and replies to your contact form submissions are more likely to get flagged as spam, esp for yahoo/aol

  • accretionist Ben Royce @ SOCIETY2 (@accretionist) reported

@RollinRonin15 @TheCryptoLark @um_yerwerld tech progress never stops and bitcoin is subject to it as much as any tech myspace is forever. aol is forever. netscape is forever. land lines are forever...
