When it first arrived — and I made a blog there within the first two months of its public existence — @tumblr was the near perfect blogging platform. Then AOL destroyed it. Now it’s a horrible jail where I can’t get rid of this dumb screen. Thanks @automatic.

@aolmail A family member has received the most appalling customer service from #aol. Utterly shocking. All she wants to do is reset the password as she’s been locked out & the response was effectively, go away and set up another account. She has replied, but I’m not happy.

@teleject @meyerweb It kinda does though... With MSN Explorer (yes that was a thing in 2001, competing with AOL) we enabled "toast notifications" and the name was because "the little thing popped like the toast on the screensavers." Real toast never does that. It sits there. It sometimes Burns.

.@Aol claims you only need to sign in once with a specially created password to 3rd party applications, such as Apple Mail Outlook & things will go smoothly after that. BUT that continues NOT to be the case. After a period of time the program disconnects. @AolMail @AolSupportHelp

@QueenBadegg @DeanMacpherson @eThekwiniM The Metro police was AOL during the looting. They came after the riots stopped and started attacking communities and starred taking down baracades. I am sure they did that to move stolen goods around as communities were blocking moving points

@SaviorSavvo @BackupHangman AOL/Time Warner was part of it but they were hemorrhaging money for a couple years at that point, if they could have still kept high ratings, theres a possibility bischoff's group would have bought WCW and been able to get it on another network and it could have survived possibly

@Psychoblue9 @nikoexxtra People like Tony schiovane have said russo actually created a decent working environment including rehearsals for the shows that Eric never did. Just spend twenty minutes explaining the Y2K crisis and the late 90's/early 2000's internet to a younger coworker. (Topics included AOL away messages, Neopets, and paper library card catalogs.) Guess I need to get my Metamucil and Bengay and head on down to Shady Pines.
