I don’t do “cliques” on here. I do talk to people from my hometown most, though. That’s about it. Other than that, I ride this ship solo, man. I did yahoo chats and aol rooms years ago. That was enough for me to never want to do those things again.

@strangeisbetter lol I think an old/new service should come out: AOL Chatrooms. It would work better.

  • dougmortonagain Doug (@dougmortonagain) reported from Ealing, England

The first PlayStation came out, and Macs transitioned to Power PC. AOL is launched. Amazon was founded. Microsoft announces it will no longer sell or support the MS-DOS operating system separately from Microsoft Windows

@UTTRob Long story short: WCW made no money at all. So, once the locker room fell apart, product deteriorated, ratings tanked, and Ted Turner lost control of Time Warner I guess you'd say AOL technically killed WCW. But, in a "putting down a wounded animal" sort of way.

  • ljRBoi TomFnFord (@ljRBoi) reported

@UTTRob A lot of things. Booking, AOL/Time Warner Merger, terrible storylines, giving out outlandish contracts, lack of distribution, top guys refusal to give up their spot. Forgot another thing, VINCE RUSSO.

@EbonyStarr5 Oh and AOL messenger and chat rooms! Damn I forgot about those lol

  • PaddyDoubleMs The Notorious P.A.T. (@PaddyDoubleMs) reported

@UTTRob The merging of Turner's properties to Time Warner did not help. Then the merging to AOL was the death knell. They saw WCW as dead weight.

Because I do not have access to my previous account of Kaptainess on Twitter and Facebook due to email problems, I just use my real name. So there. I don't enjoy AOL any longer because of the lack of interaction with members.

  • ragnarxiv Ragnar (@ragnarxiv) reported

Holy crap, rewatching Oregairu S1 and I forgot they used the "You've Got Mail" AOL sound effect for Hikigaya's phone when he gets a text.
