There is no way to actually prove how much wcw made or lost time warner/aol/Turner proactively dumped other company divisions debts into the company they were gaming the system. You do not Cancel your number 1 or two entertainment asset that you are selling and not violate fiduciary duty.

@mama_gforce AOL - it was comforting to know that somewhere on the other side of the world, someone else was hearing the exact same busy signal the same time you were

@ArtofLiving Ask your volunteers and teachers not to pressurise people to join paid sessions... Let them join by choice and not by force... Don't cross your laxman rekha else I have to file a police complaint against baba and entire AOL

Tearing down Astroworld was a stupid move, and a terrible waste. I guess the New York execs were trying to do something 'smart', after AOL played them for being dumber than a rock… 😢

@wanguwamajani It's painfully annoying and draining. The worst bit is when you have given your ID with the correct spelling and they still spell and pronounce it according to how their tongue chooses... Aol sana. Even the saf agent who registered me for mpsa had it wrongly spelt !

@sfmcguire79 Saying that a Claude subscription can teach you how to think with AI is like saying that using AOL instant Messenger teaches you to be a network engineer. Elite schools should teach the tech that makes the product work, not lock kids into a subscription platform for life.

@DowdEdward Lots of skepticism on your feed. Think the skeptics have looked at Microsoft with products worse than they were 10 years ago. Wall Street hype in search of fees exists, remember Merrill Lynch pushing AOL? Too bad government "investment" doesn't get the same scrutiny.

@ThrillaRilla369 I was a mainframe systems programmer, I did not 'surf the web' back in the day, terribly insecure (worse now). I used IBMLink my entire career. We used arapnet, other early networks to research data at Berkley, UCLA, JPL. Mainframes are secure, always have been. When PC's, the web for everyone, AOL came out, we laughed and stayed with secure connections. We had email on the mainframe, profs (under VM) for word processing, long before the public knew what those things were. There is no security out in this non-ethernet world now! Https means nothing. Data mining is to be expected and reading terms and conditions should have intelligent people running from certain apps. I have never had a FB presence, nor will I. I constantly ask anyone around me, family, churches, friends, who pressure me for one app or another, "did you read their terms and conditions?" I know, Thrilla, you wanted cute answers. I'm supplying truth. X is my only social media and my husband had to talk me into it. Now, I'm a posting, replying, liking, following fool! But I won't download any other.

    1. Most parents will let teens setup their own phone 2. The rest will give their kids a used phone that's already setup for an adult This has to be the single most stupid thing I've seen in online child safety since the start of my tech career in 1996 when I started at AOL.
