@CAAnnieBananie I know right? It was so fun. Going from usenet news to graphics felt like we climbed a mountain. I think charging for message boards was a big fumble. And I never got comfy on AOL for some reason.

@SassyMetisChick I didn't do AOL, but I spent a LOT of time in the pagan/witchcraft/magick channels on IRC (Undernet/Efnet/Dalnet) in the mid 90s. I still have friends from that era I've never met in person.

Just heard the publication Playbill will be leaving Twitter. They join many others yet we have that murderous, cowardly punk Rittenhouse incessantly tweeting about how he was wronged by the public. Bizarro World. **** don’t change by Christmas I’m back in the AOL Chat Rooms!

My first proper email address was @aol.com. I remember being so excited to set a ‘proper’ @btinternet.com account in 1998. My Mastodon account today is like AOL. Would anybody like to set up a business with me to host a paid-for Mastodon service with QoS standards? #mastodon.

@DrFletchington @the2ndhop Nah, it's never made any money Sure, he's paid over the odds and may never recoup the few bln he's on the hook for but it kinda reminds me of when Time Warner bought AOL for silly money at the height of the dot-com boom.. Takeovers funded by stock/shares are stupid at the zenith

@oalexious @sunnydecree You can't get Netflix to do well by tearing down Blockbuster. You can't get Google to do well by tearing down Yahoo or AOL. What?!
