@thethrashpanda_ it was a massive shot in the foot but WCW Thunder, money problems (also caused by Thunder), and the Time Warner/AOL merger was just imminent death. regardless of how ****** 2000 was, WCW wasn’t supposed to die.

@ggreenwald Terms of Service violation, just like when I cursed off a sysop in an @Aol chatroom in 1995 and got my family suspended. I wrote a letter of apology & was re-instated. Has he apologized yet for 1/6?

Amazingly, this isn't the worst deal in history. That was a previous deal involving AOL. 🤑In 2000, AOL merged with Time Warner in a deal worth $165 billion deal. 💸 In 2002, AOL was written off for $99 billon 😲 Verizon then bought AOL for $4.4 billion in 2015

@ggreenwald AOL banned a 9 year old me in 1994 for spamming a chat room. Unlike Facebook, it was a paid service. My parents lost money because a private company (rightly) determine that a child was ruining their product and service for others. STOP ******* PRETENDING THIS IS SOMETHING NOVEL
