@Rationaliber @davidmanheim @ESYudkowsky Okay, this looks like not just dogmatism but arguing in bad faith, since neither Myspace nor Facebook came into existence as rival goods for AOL or each other. (Also, my argument isn't that competition CAN'T exist it's that some market optima aren't reachable w/o enforcement.)

Another story, not particulaly bad, just annoying at the time but I learned to find it pretty funny rather quick; Back in my AOL days of RP, one of my characters I played was quite clearly a villain, and of course because of that, the moment I entered a chat with my character, -

@AndyNolanBCS @aolmail I’m having a similar problem (since Sept), except when I tried to access my AOL mail online today, it says that the site is not available at this time. What’s going on @aolmail? #Help!

@dantes_belmont Thanks, it was a perfect storm, my wife was at work, I was getting the kids out the door to school (and they were fighting each other), and I was working all at the same time. The last time I yelled at a telemarketer they wouldn't let me cancel AOL, so at least it's not often! 🤷
