@version3point1 @cranium84 @driverbod125 2½ for me. I had Hotmail rather than AOL, never had MySpace and I'm saying half for owning an encyclopædia. Never owned one, but did use the library one.

  • Paul_crannee Paul (@Paul_crannee) reported from Hindley, England

@MattKloufetos @aolmail Mine as well... Had this problem a few weeks ago 😡

  • EssArrBee Shrew-Anon (@EssArrBee) reported

@JustinMcElroy 1999: I was obsessed with the movie Rushmore and someone told me they knew Jason Schwartzman’s AOL screenname! So I proceeded to have a weeks-long chat with him and… will never know if it was really him? And I don’t care? FWIW, the SN was something-something Bellagio.

  • Halrandir Wilesten (@Halrandir) reported

@JustinMcElroy Really niche service providers. My friends all argued whether AOL or Netscape was better, while I quietly dialed in to my dad's Physicians' Online account for web access.

  • DyLhun Lhun (@DyLhun) reported

@Pluto1437 @tfmjonny This is where we write and educational programs for parents and teens to help. You're right that the BBC is stupid for blaming VRC and Meta. This could just have easily been a hit piece on Roblox or imvu or discord or omegle or icq or AOL or IRC or newsgroup or muds or kings bbs.

  • AgentUnruli Agent UnRuLi (@AgentUnruli) reported

@ItsObiz Call AOL to get that **** fixed, lol

  • selen0phiiiiile nic ☽☾ (@selen0phiiiiile) reported

I've never felt older than having to explain to my teenage brother what aim and aol was and not being able to use the house computer if someone was on the house phone or not texting after 9pm or running out of minutes 😭

  • kevaldesai Keval Desai (@kevaldesai) reported

Companies that find product-market fit at scale are hard to "kill" even by poor mgmt = it's like sailing in high winds = it takes a lot to NOT make forward progress = one gets multiple shots on goal to make it right = best e.g. over the yrs MSFT, YHOO, AOL, INTC but many others.

  • Tenacious_Ness Ness (Mourning Jeremy) (@Tenacious_Ness) reported

@notKoze I honestly don’t understand what’s so hard about this, it was no different when we were kids. Remember AOL chatrooms? Same **** happened there too.

  • BillGoldfarb Bill Goldfarb (@BillGoldfarb) reported

@TraceyRyniec @Wildreamz @BahamaBen9 More importantly, most companies fail. Using Amazon as an example now makes it seem trivial. Think about companies like AOL... No one can be sure which companies will survive this

  • Of1776Spirit SpiritOf1776 (@Of1776Spirit) reported

@bette_oh reminds me of AOL/Online, AOL Chatroom days.. i knew a few gals, who had constant, vicious harassment from usually some guy or guys, they refused to respond to, and would be driven to tears with constant personal attacks. seems the medium has changed but not the *******.

  • brandiiwineee Moderna Mommi (@brandiiwineee) reported

One of these young girls in this plant group I’m in said she never heard of AOL instant chat and I’m trying to figure out when I became a dinosaur 😭
