  Victor Meldrew moment! Ordered a new oven from @AOL for delivery today. Given a 7.00am until 7.00pm delivery slot. Rang now will not be delivered until next Sunday. Not informed of anything. Asked the service department about what they can do to correct it! Nothing. Cancelled.

  @markpinc @jonoringer Consider the source. Buying junk assets and milk them for cash. Not a bad business, but there is no reason to say that how others are doing it is wrong. I ran AOL, and I know.

  When Netscape was acquired by AOL in 1998 for $4.2B they were still unprofitable but had >50% revenue growth and dominant market share with revenue projected to grow at a 44% CAGR and surpass $1B in just a few years. Sound familiar? You wont guess what happened next: $MSFT bundled Internet Explorer with Windows for free and took 80% of the share overnight. If you don't know how to apply this historical analogue to today I cant help you.

  @TTrimoreau Anyone remember Apple's EWorld? It was Apple's attempt to gain some of the profits from the internet craze. I told them it would fail. It ended up being a year and half late, and was still just a rebranded version of AOL online. It folded shortly after being released.

  @Wajson_Crack I was using Netscape back in those days. Netscape is a browser- like Duck or Brave or FoxFire- Big competition back then to be the Browser king between netscape and ms internet explorer, then AOL stepped in and acquired netscape as their own in their platform. The 80's was the mad rush to claim the Everests of tech. I was in IT back then- even did the in person lecture series for certifications for MS. GIANT 4-5 inch wide binders of microsoft crap -carried with you into hours upon hours of MS lectures. LOL

  @VerizonSupport the directions I’m given do NOT MATCH my screen. I a sick of the incessant outages and lack of support, I’ll cancel my contract with Verizon and find a provider that actually DOES allow access! AOL in the 90’s was faster!
