The first PlayStation came out, and Macs transitioned to Power PC. AOL is launched. Amazon was founded. Microsoft announces it will no longer sell or support the MS-DOS operating system separately from Microsoft Windows

  • chrisromerlee Chris Romer-Lee (@chrisromerlee) reported from Lambeth, England

@aolmail A family member has received the most appalling customer service from #aol. Utterly shocking. All she wants to do is reset the password as she’s been locked out & the response was effectively, go away and set up another account. She has replied, but I’m not happy.

  • bhutch41 Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, England

@AOLSupportHelp Hi Guys, password prompt now so frequent; every time I open my AOL email account. Please ask your engineers to fix quickly. Thanks so much.

When it first arrived — and I made a blog there within the first two months of its public existence — @tumblr was the near perfect blogging platform. Then AOL destroyed it. Now it’s a horrible jail where I can’t get rid of this dumb screen. Thanks @automatic.

  • bhutch41 Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, England

Still having intermittent trouble sending/receiving emails on my @AOL account. Updated password on AOL via Safari; it works. Does not work through my normal email channel either sending or receiving. Systems don’t seem to share info - help!

  • JosaKeyes Josa Keyes (@JosaKeyes) reported from Ealing, England

@Miss_Snuffy Self pity finds many friends online from the earliest days of community forums up to today's toxic social media. "Share your support" we used to say at AOL and people did and lots was valuable, but a deep streak of 'alternative truth' bedded down there too to solicit attention.

  • bhutch41 Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, England

Recurring @AOL password problem; keeps telling me “incorrect password” again; had same problem a month ago. When I input password it is accepted for a short while then same message appears again; infuriating! HELP!!!

@XfinitySupport I need your help please! I have upgraded and exchanged my equipment. I upgraded my internet plan. And I still have terrible internet connection! Most of the time my tv sits there and loads and loads! I feel like I have AOL dial up all over again! For $120/month!

  • NathanEYates Nathan E. Yates (@NathanEYates) reported

@DeadCaitBounce @jposhaughnessy The funny thing is that you could almost never get online with AOL.

  • Darchmare Jeff — 💉💉+💉 (@Darchmare) reported

@kitchen It's true. We'd keep a pen and a bunch of old AOL punchcards near the phone for taking down notes about calls.

  • daesr1 DR (@daesr1) reported

@Mindwbw Yes and no. There’s a decent chance that $fb could be in a slow death spiral. I remember it seemed like AOL and Netscape would rule the internet forever, that could be FB. There is a lot of animus against FB by a growing majority, less time spent there by many.

  • JWilder9 J Wilder (@JWilder9) reported

@AOL WHO CARES, HOW BOUT YOU TAKE SOME OF YOUR PRECIOUS RESOURCES AND FIX YOUR USELESS EMAIL SPAM FILTERS SO I STOP GETTING PORN IN MY EMIAL 15 TIMES A DAY

@AJManaseer @Adam_Is_Pneuma @sweatystartup Ha. Whatever man. You def don’t know much about where this is going. AOL. Kids all over are hooked on this ****. Nearly 2 million wireless units sold basically in beta. Apple has a vr coming out for meta. It’ll be huge Aj. Don’t miss it. Apple sold 15 billion in headphones ha

  • SonyaLynn SonyaInTheBin (@SonyaLynn) reported

@MizDanaClaire True…but those didn’t cease to be funny until ppl stopped doing ‘em. Trust me that none of the tech support horror stories are apocryphal. Those exact calls—Any key, cup holder, mouse as sewing pedal, and more—have been fielded by so many techs! I did phone support for AOL.

  • BullDawgBrewer BulldawgBrewer (@BullDawgBrewer) reported

@Mark_Phillips Mark, I just can’t figure it out. There are so many looking into BTC, investment Co’s rolling out offerings, states pushing legislations to accept as currency, etc It’s like they all want AOL to survive SO bad that they are ignoring Google getting diddled in the corner by the SEC

  • AgnosticLeigh 🦄♀🏳️‍🌈♉𝕷𝖊𝖎𝖌𝖍💚😷💉💉 (@AgnosticLeigh) reported

@proskulldrawer Hell I remember the original AOL chat rooms and the **** I would accidentally stumble into. Today's internet is even crazier and many parents I'm sure have absolutely no clue what their precious innocent children are looking up.
