@WIRED Just when America figured it was free to go Online with the latest incarnation for the people who inundated every single final release of "You've Got Mail" commercial. If you remember me from AOL, or ZDNet Online, The Microsoft Network, to name a few as a tech and writer.

@icecreamavfc @WWEGareth Your opinions aren't novel. When I was first online in 1996 all the losers in the AOL chat rooms would say the same exact things about Meltzer. They never read his work either, so had no frame of reference whatsoever. So in a way, you're part of quite the legacy.

In 1998 a woman from an AOL chat room wanted to see a pic of me and sent me a fax number. I drew a picture of Mr Potato Head and faxed it to her. We never spoke again.

@jamnflapjacks I never played Neophyte, but I do vaguely remember the games section on AOL. I remember I downloaded this shareware roguelike called Castle of the Winds, that game ruled.

@stonemtn Please don't leave with Comixology as a broken, unusable mess. It was the best thing in the world. Until a few weeks ago. Now it's like trying to read comics on an AOL dialup while someone yells at you. This new Comixology is a disease. Please fix it before you leave.
