I was told by a rep ref. AOL: "it's a very old platform.." as if that was an excuse. If it doesn't work, they shouldn't take my money. @TalkTalk is a useless outfit too. I was called for months by fake Indian call centres after their data hack. My home internet sucks. @AOL @Ofcom

Utterly useless service from AOL/Yahoo/TalkTalk yet again following my complaint reference the breakdown/failure of their systems. So irritating when you pay for a service and don't get it. I was told by a rep ref. AOL: "it's a very old platform.." as if that was an excuse. @AOL

@aolmail I’ve been attempting to retrieve my wife’s AOL password for the past 10 or more emails with your supposed email support. Its merry go round getting nowhere. Please assist.

I'm going to start writing fanfic where myspace and Facebook started as stand alone portals like old-school aol and didn't use the internet. So the internet didn't get invaded by the main stream population. The internet stayed information and not monitized garbage. Dreams.

@ItsTheBrandi A few years ago I dusted off my old MySpace username and password - which I was apparently still using as recently as 2014 - and they didn't work. AOL deleted all my old accounts after I didn't sign in for a few years. I think a lot of social media sites purge after a while.

@emersonRpage twitter meets email. you have a gmail acc, someone else has an aol acc. you can send email to them even tho ur on different sites, and ur email address ends with @(your email providers domain). mastodon is that but with tweets instead of mail. not too hard to get the hang of imo

I remember right before AOL bit the dust, they tried to charge a $4.99 "maintenance charge" every month just for the privilege of logging on. Yes I'm AOL old lol. Baby they revoked that **** so fast due to the consumer backlash. There's a lesson there Ms. @Twitter.

@girlsreallyrule i have seen forums come and go.. AOL chats, EZBoards, News message board services, forums, myspace, etc,etc.. @Twitter is nothing but another limited platform i can bury today and never look back
