When it first arrived — and I made a blog there within the first two months of its public existence — @tumblr was the near perfect blogging platform. Then AOL destroyed it. Now it’s a horrible jail where I can’t get rid of this dumb screen. Thanks @automatic.

@beaniemaxi Coming from the old days of ICQ, AOL Chats, AIM, etc I totally agree. I didn't need someone's permission to use a pic of myself or a cartoon or whatever. The problem is, these new images are being tied to identities and that is why folks are creating lines not to be crossed.

And for what? "Web 2.0"? I swear we're already at 3.0! Never should have neglected MySpace. Never should have left Yahoo. Never should have put AOL as a relic to the past. Google failing on that should have been a sign!

@byKatherineRoss I could never invest in a company like this ... and I tried. How long can a company in dissary last? Also FB is a fad ( few people seem to get the connection ... Prodigy, AOL, Myspace, etc) They come and go.

Ya'll can keep giving Nintendo new money for old services. And not even getting the old services just bad emulation of them with new bad online. Clips I'm seeing of n64 on Switch looks like it's running on a Tiger Handheld connected to AOL dial up 🤢
