Maxine Sweetman-Ive (@sweetmax22) reported from Southend-on-Sea, England@BekoUK I bought a Beko VCS5125AR Upright Vacuum Cleaner in Red from AOL 27/2/21 and in the past week it has cut out after using it for 10mins and did not restart for 20mins. Not happy. I would like it swapped for a hoover that works competently for the use it was bought for!

Using a phone line and dialing up the service meant you were connecting to the world, it felt like a magical experience. Hearing 'You got mail' and your AIM notifications going off was the first dopamine hit for people being addicted to social platforms - but it was different. You were not online for long durations - usually, just to login for 5 - 15 minutes to check your messages, read some quick news, and log off. Mom had to use the phone after all and you couldn't stay on all day. Today's internet is an always on experience, making it hard for people to disconnect and touch grass / hang out with family and friends.

I remember script battling in AOL chat rooms, trying to connect for multi-player warcraft 1 games and failing, and dial up porn galleries taking forever to load a ****** picture. When'd you first go online since it was so pivotal in your life? Lol
