My parents weren’t “googling” **** when I was a kid because Google didn’t exist until 1998, and even then the internet wasn’t seen as some vast repository of all human knowledge. It was local BBS systems, Usenet, AOL, and Geocities.

  • Ravie30 Heather Ragsdale (@Ravie30) reported

@TheBrandiRhodes Now with that said...I enjoy your posts and I love that you take the time to get advice from other mothers to help you along. I wish there had been something other than AOL chat rooms when I had my babies. I would have posted nothing but questions and baby gushing..that's it.

  • TheStarLi ALi (Dropped Tales) (@TheStarLi) reported

@causalinf My dad’s job gave us free 56k internet at home so we never dealt with AOL. I was extremely confused by my friend’s AOL internet the first time I saw it.

  • QweenOfDaNorth A Song of Sass and Ire (@QweenOfDaNorth) reported

@SteamboatUSA Its laughable thinking that millennial’s parents were googling anything. I had to show my parents how to install the AOL disk internet onto our computer growing up. ****, they still don’t know how to Google **** with any modicum of success

  • dominic_w Dominic Williams ∞ (@dominic_w) reported

2/ Smart contracts run on public networks. Nobody wants to be the captive customer of AWS, Azure and Google. Developers don't want to build using proprietary old IT frameworks. They want to be free. Unlimited smart contracts provide the alternative. Remember AOL vs internet...

  • InMDNAWeTrust Crazy Cat Lady (@InMDNAWeTrust) reported

IT Twitter - Does anyone have any idea why AOL mail through macmail would work on an iphone but not a macbook? Tried everything & it’s not an encryption, port, firewall, protocol issue.

  • Brook_LynnSmith Bklyn-11228 (@Brook_LynnSmith) reported

@MSN Wtf is wrong with you? Their own Human Rights group called Israel an apartheid state. Plus why do you still exist. Didn’t you die with AOL?
