Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Chippenham and nearby locations:

  • GeoffNoizy NoizyGeoff (@GeoffNoizy) reported from Bathford, England

@Reblou3Rebecca Only one. Never had an AOL account.

  • gerrylynch Gerry Lynch (@gerrylynch) reported from Devizes, England

@SimonCatRiley Lycos. I remember when Lycos was the best. Then it was outcompeted by AltaVista. I never thought Yahoo was any good, even when it was the most popular one. And AOL's mega-intranet which seemed dated by 2000 but by now a strange precognition of social media.

@mapperdan @NellyTells And we only had Linux - black screen green characters. In 1992 AOL became public and a year later sent out packages to help people get online.

  • insomni31780696 insomniac (@insomni31780696) reported

@GreatCheshire I missed it entirely, despite being Extremely Online since the days we used AOL CD-ROMs as drink coasters, and I keep getting the vague notion I should go through it just to find out what ******** everyone is on about.

  • simplyjennifer @simplyjennifer@zirk.us 🐘 (@simplyjennifer) reported

@teemcee Lady problems do suck. Back in the days of AOL instant messenger, a friend’s handle was “Evil *****,” because she wanted to rip hers out and throw them into the sun.

  • margielatabiz (@margielatabiz) reported

after i finished my rewatch of you’ve got mail it’s still a 5 star classic even wit the egregious and dated product placement of aol it’s a beautiful movie fr. also meg ryan in dat movie i won’ted her so bad

  • AnnamLaughs Annam ☻ (@AnnamLaughs) reported

@Spliff_Nation “1000 hours on AOL” i never understood that

  • GlendaVee Glenda Vaquerano (@GlendaVee) reported

@kimgarst I’m AOL/internet via dial up modem & AirTouch wireless customer w/ Audiovox mobile phone old (still with AirTouch but they’re Verizon Wireless now).

  • pjmcnealy P.J. McNealy (@pjmcnealy) reported

You know specifically that the @BostonGlobe customer service section online looks like it was written for someone who is still using AOL Dial-up service. It is clearly an area they have not invested in in the #DigitalEra. #NotAPriority #6800baudmodem

  • ConditorCancri Potentially Trevor Walker (@ConditorCancri) reported

@MileenaUltra Oh, that’s long lost. I expect big i Internet won’t be around too much longer, I think you’ll see it broken into regional systems so greater control can be exerted. The promise of the Internet has been completely passed away. This is closer to AOL than to 1997 WWW.

  • MxInevitable Mx. Inevitable (@MxInevitable) reported

@Itmechr3 There will never be a better chat bot than what we had on AOL Instant Messenger

  • AndrewWippler Andrew J. Wippler (@AndrewWippler) reported

@rynhayden So are you using a service for email? Because Juno, Aol, and Yahoo emails are in use by many church people.... and they are all stuck on old SPAM checking protocols... Have fun debugging! :)
