  • jayfreund James Freund (@jayfreund) reported from Poplar, England

@AOLSupportHelp hi there having trouble accessing my emails at the moment , I’ve tried to reset my password and it won’t allow me to , could you help?

  • YardleyShooting Mike Yardley (@YardleyShooting) reported from City of London, England

Utterly useless service from AOL/Yahoo/TalkTalk yet again following my complaint reference the breakdown/failure of their systems. So irritating when you pay for a service and don't get it. I was told by a rep ref. AOL: "it's a very old platform.." as if that was an excuse. @AOL

  • dancall Dan Calladine (@dancall) reported from Wandsworth, England

@neilperkin You'd think they could find a fix. This used to happen with all AOL accounts showing up as 'Virginia' 20 years ago!

  • thejohnjansen John Jansen (@thejohnjansen) reported from Camden Town, England

@teleject @meyerweb It kinda does though... With MSN Explorer (yes that was a thing in 2001, competing with AOL) we enabled "toast notifications" and the name was because "the little thing popped like the toast on the screensavers." Real toast never does that. It sits there. It sometimes Burns.

  • sarahpilates Sarah Pilates (@sarahpilates) reported from Camden Town, England

@1womanworkforce If he’s working from the aol ap I would delete it and reload. We had a problem with aol a while ago. The old Ap wasn’t working. Change the password just in case on your web version.

  • ahwpgapro Alan Walker (@ahwpgapro) reported from Loughton, England

@AOLSupportHelp We have been going around in circles and the reason I’ve tweeted my issue is I can’t get anywhere because we’ve done all the security Q’s and still 0 - I need to speak with a human being.....

  • YardleyShooting Mike Yardley (@YardleyShooting) reported from City of London, England

I was told by a rep ref. AOL: "it's a very old platform.." as if that was an excuse. If it doesn't work, they shouldn't take my money. @TalkTalk is a useless outfit too. I was called for months by fake Indian call centres after their data hack. My home internet sucks. @AOL @Ofcom

  • brokenbottleboy Mic Wright 🏳️‍🌈🏴‍☠️ (@brokenbottleboy) reported from Poplar, England

When it first arrived — and I made a blog there within the first two months of its public existence — @tumblr was the near perfect blogging platform. Then AOL destroyed it. Now it’s a horrible jail where I can’t get rid of this dumb screen. Thanks @automatic.

  • ahwpgapro Alan Walker (@ahwpgapro) reported from Loughton, England

@aolmail I’ve been attempting to retrieve my wife’s AOL password for the past 10 or more emails with your supposed email support. Its merry go round getting nowhere. Please assist.

  • xSarahSolomon Sarah Solomon (@xSarahSolomon) reported from Camberwell, England

AGREED! Every kid except me had nice shiny internet...we were stuck with that shitty AOL dialup that we were only allowed to use to play Cartoon Network games on if we were good 🥴

  • NiamhGrimes4 Niamh Grimes (@NiamhGrimes4) reported from Goffs Oak, England

@AOL unable to sign into email for last week. No response from customer services. No one to talk to either😡😡Absolute joke. Important emails that I cannot access. AOL can you please get on to this. Beyond frustrating.

  • broad_thomas Tom Broad (@broad_thomas) reported from Bexleyheath, England

@AOLSupportHelp hi we have forgotten our aol@password tried to recover it but can’t, have no recovery details set up help please

  • 8outof10blog 8/10 (@8outof10blog) reported from Barnet, England

@reece_dinsdale The other two are "Welcome to AOL: you're connected!" and "Goodbye...th-that's it." Damn I need to put these on my new laptop!

AOL Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Jonatha00412152 Jonathan Clark (@Jonatha00412152) reported

@zaynmalik I thought it's called Meta now and headed down the toilet like aol MySpace and Google plus. Try Tumblr if they still exist.

  • hami1018a Henry Hamilton (@hami1018a) reported

@NFLDw @FalcoholicMatt Remember when MySpace was the **** then it wasn't. AOL used to be the go to for email. Remember the "you got mail" notifications on your desktop computer. That's how Iook at Twitter. Twitter offers nothingb that another app can't recreate.

  • stickfigureme StickfigureBatGirlAndJeck (@stickfigureme) reported

@Pepperpeppering I can work with countersocial and IG. That AOL-y **** really rubbed me the wrong way.

  • CapitalistDog1 Capitalist Dog ⚡ (@CapitalistDog1) reported

@lopp I do think there was a bit of the opposite problem, the reputation systems favored the incumbents and it was already centralized once spam problems got ugly. AOL, Yahoo and Hotmail could have pushed for or adopted actual enhancements, but didn't.

  • meta_rach Rachᵉᴸ🐶🖼 (@meta_rach) reported

    @The808Ape @mchoyla Never had aol

  • ebonielon 🔮 Crown Witch 🔮 (@ebonielon) reported

@emmanem_93 @GHGeneralTruth On the AOL forums, we used to call her The Siren. In hindsight, her character dragged the show down to the point of no return, but Sarah Brown was a damn revelation. One of the best soap actresses ever.

  • LornaHammer Lorna Hammer (@LornaHammer) reported

@AOLSupportHelp Fraud has been committed against my daughter using an AOL address. I have a crime number. Please contact me to assist . Money has been spent with @very_ireland @littlewoods urgent support required #fraud #veryuk it is TOO easy to create FAKE accounts #help

  • dannyboy7796 Daniel Jones (@dannyboy7796) reported

@il0venostalgia I remember my first ISP being AOL (I know, I didn't stop with them long!) and them not recognising my K56Flex (it needed a V.90 IIRC) modem as being 56K, with it only operating at 33.6. Not that their support chat people would believe that though....

  • tolmasky Francisco Tolmasky (@tolmasky) reported

Similarly, Messages on iOS is notoriously worse to search than AOL Instant Messenger! Back then my entire message history autosaved & organized by date on my HD. 20 years ago(!) I considered it a solved problem to find a link someone messaged me. Today I consider it impossible.

  • MikkeMortis Mikke "The Rigor" Mortis (@MikkeMortis) reported

@drewsawdill @AOL AOL is a disgrace! This has been an issue for months with no sense of urgency whatsoever. They're basically forcing you to use their garbage app instead of using your preferred email client.
