One thing I can never stop thinking about is that in some developing countries, Facebook _is_ the internet. Facebook have made an AOL on steroids situation there and it’s a scandal

@amandajpanda Verizon is my isp, they sold off their email service to AOL. You’ve got mail! They were my first dial up provider and until this happened I was sure they were long gone.

@AnarchoCorvidae I was there; we did not. We made up way more outlandish **** because no one could call you on anything until they went home to their computer and dialed in to AOL and looked it up and even then it was just some dudes geocities page saying “nah” It was a weird time.
